Description

Hanahato Kijōshu 8 Years Aged (華鳩 貴醸酒8年貯蔵) is made from Nakate Shinsenbon rice milled to 65%. It is a kijōshu that has been approved by master sommeliers around the world and has won the gold medal in the aged sake category at the IWC 2024, the world's largest wine competition, for the 14th time in total, following wins in 2008, 2010-2017, 2019-2021, and 2023. It was also awarded Gold medals at KuraMaster.

Kijōshu is crafted with sake instead of water, a sophisticated twist on traditional sake. This results in a richer, sweeter flavour profile reminiscent of sherry, Madeira, or high-quality Shaoxing wine. Aged for over eight years, this Kijōshu is a beloved choice among discerning drinkers worldwide. Its smooth, mellow texture and luscious sweetness make it particularly appealing.

Pair it with rich dishes like foie gras, cheese, braised pork, or tempura, or indulge in sumptuous desserts by drizzling it over chocolate or ice cream. After a night of spicy libations, Kijōshu's soothing flavor offers a delightful respite.
