WAKAYAMA AGARA CRAFT SANSHO ALE
Item: 1979-CS
Description
The town of Aridegawa's Sansho Peppercorns - this small Wakayama prefecture town's specialty - are used in luxurious excess to brew this unique pale ale. Sansho pepper is one of Japan's most popular spices after wasabi, and it lends a unique flavor and mouthfeel to dishes similar but distinctly separate from the numbing sensation of it's cousin the Chinese Szechuan peppercorn.
Nose: Has the refreshing and mild herbal aroma of Japanese sansho peppercorn, which hops cannot provide.
Flavor: Soft and round with a gentle and pepper finish.
Food Pairings: Grilled meats like Yakiniku and Yakitori, Anago, Pepper Steak Stir Fry, Roasted Branzino.
